SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – January 26, 2008 – Future US announced today the availability of its entire catalog of Maximum PC, Mac|Life and Vista Magazines online for the first time through Google Book Search, adding immeasurable value to current and future advertisers. Google Book Search, a pilot program that offers consumers the opportunity to peruse archives of literature for back-issues, allows advertisers to effectively communicate brand messages to consumers for an infinite period of time as all content – editorial and advertising – appearing in the print editions of Maximum PC, Mac|Life and Vista remain forever searchable and downloadable online.
Google Book Search makes it possible for Maximum PC, Mac|Life and Vista fans to review recent issues online or gain a historical industry perspective thanks to the accessibility of every published issue of each magazine. Archives will be available for the following: Maximum PC from 1998 to the present, Mac|Life from April 2007 to the present and Vista from autumn 2007 to the present.
“Our searchable online archives give tech enthusiasts looking for information that dates back to the early Internet days or insights on a recent trend a reliable resource to tap into,” said Jonathan Simpson-Bint, President of Future US. “Google Book Search also offers our advertisers a unique opportunity to strengthen communication of their core values with consumers by keeping messages alive online for an ever-expanding base of consumers who use the new service to seek specific tech knowledge.”
Along with Future US’ technology publications, consumers can search through the full text of more than seven million books and magazines through the Google Book Search pilot program.
“We’re proud to be part of this exciting new transmission of information and literature,” said Stacey Levy, Vice President & Publishing Director of Future US. “It’s a natural extension of our multi-platform approach to take the exclusive, authoritative editorial content that we’re known for and extend its life online for consumers and our advertisers.”
