First Ever Gaming Awards Show Podcast To Feature Live Acceptance Speeches With Industry’s Biggest Game Developers And Publishers

South San Francisco, CA (February 2, 2007) – The red carpets have been rolled out and award season is upon us, but only Official Xbox Magazine will be handing out honors to the likes of hitmen, hedgehogs and high powered weapons with their first ever Games of The Year Awards, featured in the February issue of Official Xbox Magazine on newsstands now.

Top honors went to Epic Games’ Gears of War, which took home the Xbox 360 Game of the Year Award. Midway’s Mortal Kombat: Armageddon walked away with the Xbox Game of the Year title.

Marking OXM’s 50th podcast and presented by the Academy of Art University, the awards show kicks off on Friday, February 2nd. Hosted by Official Xbox Magazine Senior Editors Ryan McCaffrey and Dan Amrich, the exclusive two-part awards show podcast will feature live acceptance interviews with over 20 of the winning game developers and publishers, a first in game podcasting history. Confirmed guests include Epic Games’ Lead Designer Cliff “CliffyB” Blezinski, Mortal Kombat’s Creative Director Ed Boon, Electronic Arts Chicago’s Studio Head Kudo Tsunoda and Todd Howard, Executive Producer of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The second part of the awards show will air on Friday, February 9th.

As with all other Official Xbox Magazine podcasts, both Game of the Year awards shows will be available for free download via the iTunes site and available at www.oxmpodcast.com.
