<p>Then you’re ready to join our team! Future US works with the biggest, most influential yarn brand to produce digital, web, and print content, and we need your help growing and increasing the loyalty of their audiences through smart online community building and social strategy.</p>
<p>We are seeking a talented and innovative Community and Social Manager to work with the craft content teams in our South San Francisco office. This person will develop and implement the strategy for building and retaining a strong online community, improving our social media engagement and performance, making our destinations a welcoming environment for our audiences, serve as a voice for our readers internally, and train our teams in best practices.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate has 3+ years’ experience working as a community manager for an online-content site. Experience performing this role for a craft or lifestyle content site is strongly preferred.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Help shape and execute the online community strategy for Future’s craft sites, coordinating with stakeholders across the company to ensure its effectiveness.</li>
<li>Work with the Director of Digital Content and Product team to ensure the community tools are kept up to date and functional.</li>
<li>Generate compelling community-building editorial content (blogs, newsletters, cross-promotional materials with other sites/blogs) and video, and manage a schedule of online events and contests.</li>
<li>Help establish a clearly stated and user-friendly set of community guidelines and moderation policy.</li>
<li>Help manage communities on social networking sites including Ravelry, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, and other similar social media outposts.</li>
<li>Develop relationships with community leaders and influencers – both within our communities and other related external communities.</li>
<li>Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the growth of the community, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of social initiatives.</li>
<li>Regularly provide feedback and insights gained from community monitoring to help evolve strategies and planning.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Creative, diplomatic, cool under pressure. Have a thick skin and fantastic interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Strong project management or organizational skills</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge and understanding of online community platforms and how they can be deployed in different scenarios</li>
<li>Knowledge of the needlearts industry</li>
<li>Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary</li>
<li>Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools and principles quickly</li>
<li>Editorial, Marketing, Customer Service experience, a plus</li>

This position will work with internal teams and with external clients: Agencies, Ad Networks, Direct Advertisers, and Developers.</p>
<p><strong>Job Description</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Perform the day-to-day ad placement, scheduling and updates for customers, including rich media ad placements using Google DART for Publishers (DFP).</li>
<li>Ensure that campaigns start and end on time and fully delivery all booked impression, including working with advertisers and sales staff to ensure all creative materials are delivered on time.</li>
<li>Investigate and resolve delivery/performance issues.</li>
<li>Maintain ad inventory forecasts and availability schedule and publish to sales team periodically; assist advertisers to resolve technical problems and answer questions on materials to be delivered</li>
<li>Advise/consult with ad salespeople regarding advertising inventory, availability forecasting and campaign performance.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with one or more Internet ad management or targeted marketing applications (e.g., DoubleClick DART / DFP, 24/7 Real Media,</li>
<li>Falk AdSolution, etc.) required. Deep DART DFP experience required.</li>
<li>Familiar with online advertising, marketing, and sales concepts and metrics with 2+ years supporting a sales organization.</li>
<li>Keen understanding of ad campaign metrics and analysis including; CPM, CPC, and CPA.</li>
<li>Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.</li>
<li>Familiarity with HTML, Flash and various rich media advertising creative technologies a plus.</li>
<li>B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>SAN FRANCISCO – Jan. 24, 2011 –</strong> Future US today announced the promotion of Ursula Morgan to Vice President of Media.  Most recently Vice President of Future Plus, the <a href="../what-we-do/customer-publishing/">contract publishing</a> division of Future US, Morgan has been with the organization for 15 years; coming on-board in 1997.</p>
<p>In Morgan’s new role as Vice President of Media, she will oversee all of Future’s gaming properties, including <em>Official Xbox Magazine, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and Nintendo Power</em>; Future Plus, which includes special interest media such as <em>@Gamer</em>, <em>Crochet Today!</em> and<em> Your Knitting Life</em>; and Future Studios, Future’s in-house multimedia production studio.  As part of this new expanded role, Morgan will manage all facets of the three divisions, including creative and production across digital and print properties.  She is tasked with building business through strategic client partnerships with the delivery of fresh, relevant content across multimedia channels.</p>
